It's Baby Animal Season!

This is the time of year when kids and cats start bringing home orphaned critter babies. Naturally, the first things we think of are health and safety, then nourishment, but if the little guy is going to spend any time with you at all, please don't underestimate the importance of comfort. Any baby you're apt to find will be scared and COLD -- even if you think the temperature is comfortable. Puppies, kittens, squirrels, and birds are used to snuggling under a warm momma, surrounded by nest mates. It's very important to get them as close to that natural environment as possible.

The best solution is to create a nest, similar to the one your baby came from. Since nesting materials aren't usually found in the average home, and you need something QUICK, here's a solution -- grab an old, soft, knit ski hat from your winter gear. Turn it inside out, roll back the bottom and flatten it out. VOILA! Instant nest, and just the right size for most newborns!

Please visit the Love Your Pet Expo Charity Thrift Store. All proceeds go to the special needs animals at our sanctuary.
