King Tom Turkey An American Tradition Sauce Gravy Boat for Thanksgiving

Here I have a wonderful King Tom Turkey An American Tradition Sauce Gravy Boat. This item consists of 3 pieces-bottom, lid, and ladle. The pattern is called King Tom, and it is marked on the bottom: "KING TOM An American Tradition Hand Decorated underglaze genuine ironstone". This sauce boat is decorated with transfers of turkeys and fall fruits and vegetables. There is also a feather-like design on the handles, attached saucer, and ladle handle. The rounded dish has two curved handles on the side, and the underplate is attached. The lid has a figural turkey head as the finial, with a cut-out for the ladle to come through. With the lid in place on the dish, the dish handles look like the turkey's wings, and the ladle looks like tail feathers. Simply an adorable and hard-to-find item from this line. There are no chips on the lid, ladle, or bottom dish. The bottom dish has quite a bit of crazing (as this pattern is known for), but no chips or cracks. The lid has just very minor crazing, and no cracks or chips. The ladle has no chips or cracks, and no noticeable crazing, either. Overall size is approx. 8" tall, measuring to the top of the turkey's head, and it is about 7" in diameter.

This King Tom Turkey An American Tradition Sauce Gravy Boat is available for purchase at www.onlineauction.com . Shipping and insurance is included in the purchase price.

ATTORNEY'S ADVICE - NO CHARGE

Copied and Pasted From a Post by Riley at SA:
ATTORNEY'S ADVICE - NO CHARGE

Read this and make a copy for your files in case you need to refer to it someday. Maybe we should all take some of his advice! A corporate Attorney sent the following out to the employees in his company.

1.. Do not sign the back of your credit cards. Instead, put "PHOTO ID REQUIRED."

2.. When you are writing checks to pay on your credit card Accounts, DO NOT put the complete account number on the "For" line. Instead, just put the last four numbers. The credit card company knows the rest of the number, and anyone who might be handling your check as it passes through all the check processing channels won't have access to it.

3.. Put your work phone # on your checks instead of your home Phone. If you have a PO Box use that instead of your home address. If you do not have a PO Box, use your work address. Never have your SS# printed on your checks. (DUH!) You can add it if it is necessary. But if you have it printed, anyone can get it.

4.. Place the contents of your wallet on a photocopy machine. Copy both sides of each license, credit card, etc. You will know what you had in your wallet and all of the account numbers and phone numbers to call to cancel. Keep the photocopy in a safe place. I also carry a photocopy of my passport when I travel either here or abroad. We've all heard horror stories about fraud that's committed on us in stealing a name, address, Social Security number, credit cards.

Unfortunately, I, an attorney, have firsthand knowledge because my wallet was stolen last month. Within a week, the thieve(s) ordered an expensive monthly cell phone package, applied for a VISA credit card, had a credit line approved to buy a Gateway computer, received a PIN number from DMV to change my driving record information online, and more. But here's some critical information to limit the damage in case this happens to you or someone you know:

5.. We have been told we should cancel our credit cards immediately. But the key is having the toll free numbers and your card numbers handy so you know whom to call. Keep those where you can find them.

6.. File a police report immediately in the jurisdiction where your credit cards, etc., were stolen. This proves to credit providers you were diligent, and this is a first step toward an investigation (if there ever is one)

But here's what is perhaps most important of all: (I never even thought to do this.)

7.. Call the 3 national credit reporting organizations immediately to place a fraud alert on your name and also call the Social Security fraud line number. I had never heard of doing that until advised by a bank that called to tell me an application for credit was made over the internet in my name. The alert means any company that checks your credit knows your information was stolen, and they have to contact you by phone to authorize new credit.

By the time I was advised to do this, almost two weeks after the theft, all the damage had been done. There are records of all the credit checks initiated by the thieves' purchases, none of which I knew about before placing the alert. Since then, no additional damage has been done, and the thieves threw my wallet away this weekend (someone turned it in). It seems to have stopped them dead in their tracks.

Now, here are the numbers you always need to contact about your wallet, etc., has been stolen:

1.) Equifax: 800-525-6285

2.) Experian (formerly TRW): 888-397-3742

3.) TransUnion : 800-680 - 7289

4.) Social Security Administration (fraud line):
800-269-0271

We pass along jokes on the Internet; we pass along just about everything.

If you are willing to pass this information along, it could really help someone that you care about.

Bing and Grondahl Seagull with Gold Ring Holder

Well, I don't have any bats in my belfry, but I do have a beautiful porcelain Bing and Grondahl Seagull with Gold Ring Holder in my store at www.onlineauction.com.

Bing & Grondahl is located in Denmark. This Danish company made the seagull pattern for over one hundred years. They started making the seagull with gold pattern in 1895, and it was discontinued in 1997. This pattern features a white seagull on an ocean blue background, and gold trim. This Bing and Grondahl Seagull with Gold Ring Holder measures approx. 4" in diameter, and it stands about 3" high. This wonderful and scarce piece is in very good condition, with no chips or damage.

What Do You Give Out On Halloween?

I'm curious... What do you usually give out on Halloween night?

In my early years, I gave out inexpensive candy (bubble gum, Dum Dums suckers, etc.). I eventually moved up to the 'good' candy (Milky Way, Snickers, etc.). Now I give out glow stick necklaces each year. I like the glow stick necklaces because the kids love them (they put them on as soon as they get them) and the parents appreciate them, not only because their children are easily seen on the street in the dark, but because they don't have to check to make sure the 'treat' is safe for consumption.

So, what do you give out?

Mauzys Kitchen Collectibles ID Price Guide

I'm selling a good share of my Collectibles Identification, Reference, and Price Guide Books and came across this Kitchen Collectibles one....so decided I just as well jump on the hay wagon!!

All you have to do is type in AK into the search bar between Sept. 29 - Oct. 5th.

Will be listing other vintage kitchen items...really makes me wonder about my 'thought' process all these past years. When something got old and dull...I would toss it and buy a shiny new item. What was I thinking? Now I appreciate vintage (s'pose it is because I am vintage?) and will opt to buy vintage over shiny new Made in China!!! Buy vintage....like a fine wine....it really is better!

Garden History Chapter Eleven

Spring 2008 Update

I know we have had an incredibly warm winter so far but this is why I love this area. You just never know what is going to happen! These pictures were taken early this year, 1/12/08. This yard is always active and sometimes over-active, lol.
My Camellia is starting to bloom. Which does concern me a bit cause they usually don’t start up till February.

The Oregon Grape (leaves look and feel like a holly), narcissus, snowbells and daffodils are starting to pop up. The Winter Daphne is, also, starting to bloom. This is generally the right time of year because I, always, have the yellow blooms in winter on the holly and the great smell of the daphne.

Just thought I would post this picture of my ferns which are tucked between the house and the shed. They are indigenous to this area so they are pretty healthy in their hiding place!

Teed Off -- Daffy Duck Looney Tunes Mug

Daffy Duck Looney Tunes mug

This nice collectible mug features the Looney Tunes hero in a typical overwrought pose -- this time throwing a fit on the golf course. But sometimes -- isn't that about the only logical thing a frustrated golfer can do? He's really "teed" off! Kodak Junior Six-16 Folding Camera with Owners Manual

Kodak produced this folding camera from 1935 - 1937. It uses size 616 film, which I do not think is still in production today. The camera is an Estate Sale find. It is in excellent condition. I am unable to determine if it functions properly, as I have no film, but I can tell you that all the parts operate perfectly. The doors and hinges all work flawlessly, and the visual appearance is remarkably well-kept!
