Another sunny day in the NW!

Hard to believe, but this has been the 5th weekend in a row that has been clear and not rainy! I think that's a record for the NW. We went gold prospecting again this morning, and I was prepared for rain... but awoke to perfectly clear skies and a balmy 27 degrees! I'm always on the lookout for wild critters when we go out to the "wilderness"... cougars and bears have been sighted. I've seen ZERO animals so far.. till today! I saw a doe lying down between some trees, and a little chipmunk scampered across the road in front of us. That's it, just 2. But it's a 200% increase!
You don't have to go out in the freezing forest to find some beautiful animals... they're right here at onlineauction.com!

The Influence of Native Americans

The Thanksgiving holiday began as a day celebrated long ago between the Pilgrims and the Native Americans who taught them so much about how to survive in this new land. This was a feast of thanks that they shared, giving thanks to God for the small harvest that they gathered.

The Native Americans continued to influence the way we lived even though our cultures clashed at times.

I began looking for some of the items that that we carry on OLA.com and are under the category “Native American”. I was surprised at what I found.

From Classic Chloe, I found a beautiful Handcrafted Leather Native American Doll. And she has listed many more besides this one! Her daughter had quite the collection!

From Sparky’s Collectible Cards, Magnets & Assorted Surprises, I found a wonderful little magnet, handcrafted-Indian with Winged Spirits of the Sky. Sparky has many more of these beautiful magnets! These would make wonderful stocking stuffers!!

From 4llll’s I found a gorgeous Turquoise and Sterling Bird in Flight Necklace. I must say, this is a beauty!

From Clark’s Antiques, I found a wonderful Old Wood Bark Canoe & Drum! Superb for the collector!

From Sharon2011, a brand new store from another site, I found I could purchase Handcrafted Custom Fit Moccasins made to order! These look very nice!

And from Maggie’s Farm I found the most beautiful Mata Ortiz Geometric Vase-signed and in mint condition! This, you need to take a closer look!!

Of course, whether these items were actually made by Native Americans, I do not know. But the traditions, patterns, and designs keep coming back, recreated because the Native Americans did such beautiful work. They greatly influenced our art and our way of life.

Come on over to OLA.com and see if there isn’t something that might interest you!

The holiday season is fast approaching and our sellers would be pleased to have you browse through their stores! They are a friendly lot and will go out of their way to make your purchase a happy one! And if you have time, we’d be honored to have you stop in our store, Korn Kountry Treasures! Thank you!

All About Women or Facts That Concern Women

This is either all about women or facts that concern women....I enjoyed looking for all these so hope somebody out there will enjoy them as well......

Okay, Okay, it all makes sense now... I never looked at it this way before: MENtal illness MENstrual cramps MENtal breakdown MENopause GUYnecologist And when we have REAL trouble, it's a... HISterectomy... Ever notice how all of women's problems start with MEN?

Here is a fascinating TULANE STUDY...

A study worth sharing with friends both male and female: A study conducted by Tulane's Department of Psychiatry has revealed that the kind of face a woman finds attractive on a man can differ depending on where she is in her menstrual cycle.

For example: If she is ovulating, she is attracted to men with rugged and masculine features.

However, if she is menstruating, or menopausal, she tends to be more attracted to a man with duct tape over his mouth and a spear lodged in his chest while he is on fire.

No further studies are expected.

Many years ago in Scotland , a new game was invented.. It was ruled 'Gentlemen Only...Ladies Forbidden'.. .and thus, the word GOLF entered into the English language.

In the 1400's a law was set forth in England that a man
was allowed to beat his wife with a stick no thicker than his thumb.
Hence we have 'the rule of thumb' .

Q. What do bulletproof vests, fire escapes, windshield wipers and
laser printers have in common?
A. All were invented by women.

UOE (Ultimate Oatmeal Experience)

Okay, so it isn't about Christmas, but this is one of my favorite winter treats, and today was the first morning Hubby decided it was cold enough to make it. He's a by-guess-&-by-golly cook, so this recipe will be a little vague, but you'll get the idea, then you can tweak it to suit your own tastes.

He starts with a little less water than the standard old fashioned slow-cooking oatmeal recipe calls for, brings it to a boil, adds a tiny bit of salt, then adds fresh apple pieces and either craisins or raisins. Then he brings it to a second boil, puts in some maple syrup and a little brown sugar, plus the standard quantity of oats. Finally he adds his special blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves, and cooks until done. To make it really decadent, we add a little half & half before serving. There's no need for any additional sweetener.

This oatmeal is so good it's like eating freshly-baked oatmeal cookies for breakfast, and, thanks to the microwave, the leftovers will be just as good tomorrow morning.

Here are some holiday recipe books available at OLA.com.

Are You A Jewelry Hoarder?

I am a jewelry collector. To be honest, you might call me a jewelry hoarder. If it sparkles, if it shines, if it's unusual, if it's unique, I love it that much more! My jewelry is stored in every nook and cranny... in multiple jewelry boxes, decorative dishes on the dresser and hanging on my wall.

Now the term hoarder brings to mind someone who cannot part with something, so perhaps I can escape that title, as I am often willing to share my treasures. They're given as gifts. They're included as surprises in packages. They're sold in my store, FleaPirates Plunder. Sometimes it's difficult to pass the pieces along, but I'm pretty good natured about it!

Are you a jewelry hoarder? It's ok! We understand!

It's easy to fuel your jewelry fire if you shop online. Did you know that as of this writing, there are 7565 auctions in the Jewelry and Watches category at OnlineAuction.com? Fall Back

So, did you reset your clocks? Have you taken the time to run around and re-adjust every clock in the house to one hour earlier?

Today is the big day!! For those of us who have been on Daylight Savings Time, we need to re-adjust our clocks back one hour for the next few months. Fun!!!

Daylight Savings was adopted, supposedly, to save daylight hours. Me, I think Daylight Savings was adopted to mess with our heads!! There are a few areas in the United States that are smart and don't even mess with it!! I believe Arizona and Hawaii are the sane ones, in my humble opinion!!

Whatever your opinion, first you have to have a clock to change!!

Ola.com has some super clocks! Old, new, large or small, you should really check out some of the great deals!! Check these out!!
