1941 Albania Shqipnija Underground Resistance Stamp

A shqipnija fantasy stamp dating to 1941 Albania.

Unused, and rare!

The word "SHQIPNIJA" is an Albanian word,
found on fantasy, (or bogus), stamps issued under
German administration, or a government in exile.

This fantasy stamp was said to be issued
by an Albanian resistance group,
The Liberation Committee, in exile in Italy.
They were intended to be used
when communist forces were over thrown.

This stamp features the portraits of:
Franklin D Roosevelt
Winston Churchill
and Albanian patriot Gjergji Kastrioti.

I think this is one of my favorite items
that I listed in Week 1 of the
OLA Six Week Stimulus Extravaganza!

That is an awesome addition to any stamp collection and what a story it tells. What a bargain!

I have a stamp very similar to this but it says 25-50 not 10-20. And it is dated 1952.
