Our Path Project

Last summer we gave up on finding the right house and moved an RV onto our daughter's land. Daughter has about an acre and a half of land with a strip across the back that was just overgrown brush and ground cover. Walking is the only exercise I get, so I asked Son-in-law to weed-whack a meandering path across that area so I could "hike" from our place to theirs and get a bit of a workout.

Daughter loved the idea and so did Granddaughter. The Path has become a family project. We look for pretty rocks and logs to line it with and now we're designing points of interest. Daughter put on her pedometer to measure it and now she's using it to leash-train a new pup. We've decided to add signs and yard art to commemorate family birthdays and Christmas. Next year we may put up lights. Today I heard someone in the neighborhood ringing an old dinner bell, so now I'll be on the lookout for one of those.

This path project has turned out to be something really special and fun -- also FREE! If you have some extra space and decide to try it, please share your ideas. I'll post photos, soon.

I just checked OLA for more ideas and found some great wind chimes and birdhouses.

I LOVE that idea!! I bet it's a beautiful path - and now it's full of memories!

The best part is that it's always changing and growing. It's like a huge model train layout with human trains. LOL!

Great idea! Hadn't thought of adding special things! Hubby and FIL built a bridge, years ago, across a gulley that goes into the back pasture. Took a mobile home frame and used that for the base. You gave me great ideas to spruce up the area! Thanks!!

Ooo, Korn, please post pics when you get it fixed up. We can share ideas. Son has my digital camera but it's time I learned how to use the camera feature of my smart phone. I'll try to get photos up today.

Wonderful idea. We have some acreage here but it is all down hill or down mountain. Hubby is trying to make a path to get the atv on so he can bring be back up when I get down there. We have a stream on out property but I have never seen it. Will be watching for pictures also.
