Christmas Ornaments Make Memories

Glass Christmas Ball Ornaments

Swarovski 2002 Ornament NIB Free Shipping

These ornaments that I've shown are listed at OLA.com.

They remind me of my childhood. Each year, my mother would make or buy a new ornament. A piece of paper would be taped to the ornament hanger giving the highlights of that year.

One year, we even had a paper bell, stating the year 1946, a very poor year.

The year I was born, mom purchased a plastic snowman. And on the tag, it states 1950, Amy, Sidney Montana.

I still have that ornament today. It is now 61 years old. And I have many more from mom. Before she passed away in 1993, she separated the ornaments between us three kids to put on our trees. It was getting to be to much for her.

To this day, when I put the ornaments up, I can read each one and remember special things from my childhood. And, since I continued the tradition, I have many more to look at that someday I will separate between my three kids!

Take a look at the beautiful ornaments on OLA.com. We have a variety of prices, styles and colors for you to choose from! Start your own tradition!

And, please stop in to see our store, Korn Kountry Treasures. We have a variety of Christmas items to offer!!

Christmas Hint #1 -- Get Started NOW!

Get out the decorations and Christmas cards now, before things get too busy. Figure out what you need to buy, fix, or put in the discard pile to be used for miscellaneous decorating projects. For example, many of last year’s cards can be cut down to make tags for this year’s gifts.

Small odds & ends, ribbon remnants, and broken decorations can be glued onto wreaths or pine cones.

Small, shabby ornaments can be piled into a glass jar or bowl and combined with odd pieces of tinsel or ribbon for a table or windowsill decoration.

Skimpy tinsel remnants can be twisted together to form swags or used as ribbon when wrapping gifts.

Repainting old glass ornaments can be a fun family project. It’s a whole lot like decorating Easter Eggs.

Shopping For Undies or Panties For All Sizes

I believe it was my last Supergrannys Musing blog that I commented on the high price of ladies panties. I had looked at Online Auction for some. Since then I have found a bunch of them at extremely friendly prices.

Here's a couple of examples...I'm tellin ya the variety goes from string thong panties to boxers for females.

Now these are very nice and priced very nice....I hope you will check them out. BUT...there is still a problem for some of us lovely 'full bodied' gals. I like cotton and I asked for some black pairs or some polka dot pairs. Here's what one of the OLA sellers came up with....

These are probably very nice but they are that silky nylon stuff and I like nice cool cotton. From the looks of them, I'm thinkin that manufacturer cleaned Omar the Tentmaker clean out of fabric.

Those would probably pinch hit as a swing for a toddler.

Those last 2 sentences are not for real......you knew that now didn't ya?

November 1, 2011

Today is the first day of the challenge for the OLA team blog. I hope lots of our OLA members join in the fun. It is always fun for me to check in here and see what my buddies have posted.

I am still a newbie and learning as I go. Going to try and make this one better than I did before when I put a comma instead of a dot for the link to my OLA page.

It is 11:30P.M. here in NC even though some of you are still enjoying "dancing with the stars" I am about to fall asleep here. So I thought I better keep with my commitment to Fleapirates to post a blog for every day in November. She did not say it had to be witty or smart, just a blog.

Now I will attempt to post one of my listings that I have on OLA.com and tonight I chose a piece of jewelry. Hope you find it pretty.

On Christmas Eve, when Santa Claus learns that all his reindeer have run away, he finds the solution to his problem and a new best friend in a tough, little Australian "red heeler", a herding dog named Cuddles. Written entirely in verse, this delightful story can be read to a child, read by a child, or read along with the accompanying CD, narrated by the author, with music by Larry Novak and performed by internationally acclaimed piano stylist Emile Pandolfi.

A big thanks to our participants!

Christmas Is Coming Soon!

About 15 years ago, I started writing a book called “The 12 Months of Christmas.” The idea was to share helpful hints for keeping the holiday season fun, creative, affordable, and stress-free. I never finished that book, but now I’m going to share my hints here, one-a-day, through the month of November.

If you have any favorite Christmas ideas to share, please post them as comments. I'll add them to my list and pass them on.
Here is a vintage Christmas book, listed by Callmemomo at OLA.

A poem, some might say

This is how I came about writing the following poem which has been published. My deceased husband and I were on a trip. I was driving the motor home as he did not like to drive it. I loved to drive it. We towed a hot pink tracker behind it and I had a lot of fun with that little buggy.

We were driving down the road one night ( I like driving at night) and we were in Colorado. Phil had been sleeping and when he woke up I was driving and writing on an envelope I found on the dash. He was horrified that I did not have both hands on the wheel. That is one reason I like to drive at night.....less traffic plus he slept a lot LOL. He yelled at me to pull over. I did so and he wanted to know what I was writing and I told him it was about things I see. Long story short on that one. He stayed awake and I continued to drive but not write while I did so.

The finished product is posted below. Now I thought it was funny. I was not serious when I wrote it. I have been asked if I would let a band make a song out of it and I think to myself "what are you on?" LOL I do not think anyone in their right mind would want to touch this as a song. I was wrong.

And now the poem

ROADKILL:

Roadkill, fire up the grill
if you won't tell, I'll cool it to sell
we'll get us a stand by the side of the road
go out every night for another load.

Fry up some taters, bake some beans
cook up a mess of colored greens
put it on a plate with all those things
and tell 'em it's chicken without wings.

Roadkill it's free game, if we beat the buzzards to it
we'll give it a name. put it on the menu and
put it on a plate and never tell the customers
what they just ate.

Help me with this pig, it sure is fat
get us a lot of meat outta that
it'll be special just for Sunday
freeze the leftovers first thing Monday.

Go over there and get that tire tread
we'll hide it tween 2 pieces of bread
and get that frog, we'll flatten it's head
put it in some blatter, fry it in fat
tell them folks they just gotta try that.

Now we don't want no armadillo,
I heard tell that'll kill ya
we want our eaters coming back
not carried out in a body sack.

Now you know why I did not put it in the talent section. I was floored when it got published and I was even more floored when a band wanted to make it a song. I did not give them the rights to it as it was just stuff that came across my mind while we were driving across the US.

After you read that I hope you realize that I am still that same person, just a couple of years older. Some things I think are funny others might think just ain't right. People say you are as young as you act...well then I ain't gettin'old cuz I love funny stuff too much.

Thank you for taking your time to read my blog. Please feel free to leave me a comment and I promise you if I ever invite you to dinner it will not be after we just took a trip.

Want to see what I sell? Visit http://ola,com/store/chateycathey and remember I list different items at different times so you may want to add me to your favorites. Or maybe not but then you never know what I am going to write about tomorrow.
