Life is Fantastic!

Hi!
I'm Kim, and I am a NEW Member of the OLA Team Blog.  I would like to take a few words to introduce myself.

My husband and I are retired and work full time in a ministry we helped to start east of Cheyenne about 25 years ago.  It is located an old 1971 double wide trailer located in the parking lot of a truck stop east of Cheyenne.  Our purpose is to minister to the professional truck driver while he is out on these lonely highways, away from family and friends back home.  We go to them because most of the time, they can't come into town to worship or have fellowship.  Here is a picture of our Chapel.

CPBF, I-80, Exit 370, Cheyenne, Wyoming
We live east of Cheyenne, near the truck stop.  We enjoy the quiet time at home when not at the truck stop.  You never know what will show up out on our place...here is an example of what was outside our front window just this evening!

So, now you know a little bit about me, heavy on the "bit"!

  • I Love God
  • I Love working with professional truck drivers, meeting their needs.
  • I Love living on the high plains of Wyoming. (6100 ft. elev.)
  • I Love to observe wildlife.  As some say, mostly next to a pile of mash potatoes and gravy!  ;)
  • I Love to spend time at my sewing machine, creating Quilts, table runners, mug rugs, clothing and gifts.
  • I Love meeting new people on the net who have similar interest as I do.
  • OH!  and I Love being on OLA.com!  What a GREAT bunch of people!!!
If you are interested in seeking out some wildlife of your own, take a look at these great finds on OLA I found just tonight...

saffells has these listed and the bid is LOW!!!
Or maybe just sit back with some popcorn, and watch a little movie filmed in Wyoming.  (note:  my hubby met John Wayne while he was filming this movie!)

msjaneoly has this movie listed with a Buy Now Great price!
Well, that's enough for now, more tomorrow!
Sleep well buck-a-roos!

Great post Kim and what an interesting life you live. I think your minestry is awesome and we live in the Great Smokey Mountains but only at 3,000 feet. I envy the sights you must see. Here we are afraid to go out at night as there is so little food that bears are all over town at the lower levels BUT I ain't taking no chances.

Awesome, nice story and good of you to share a little about where you dwell! Really looks like a nice peaceful place. Although, I would probably get a nose bleed at that elevation. lol

Great post and enjoyed looking at the pictures and seeing a little of your life. Your ministry has to help so many truckers and think that it is great.

Cheyenne, huh? Been there often in years past when I traveled and worked. What I remember most....drum roll....the ferocious wind. You must be truly dedicated to your mission to withstand wind that could take the hair clean off your head. Bless you both:)

@SuperGranny - What Wind???? ;)

@Aesthetics48 - LOL Nose Bleed, I think you would pass out first! OR want to take a nap. The Air here is pretty thin.

@FleaPirates - ahhh...thank YOU for the welcome! I'm SO GLAD to be here!

I meant it when I said, the people on OLA.com are really GREAT people! ♥

Thanks for the share, Kim! How cool to see all that wildlife appear. It's disappearing rapidly where I live... except this year there was a big Lynx in my pasture, and I saw a Bobcat about 1/2 mile from here. Very strange since this area is develolping so fast... I guess that's why I see them now.. probably on their way outta town.

Hey, Kim, what a super post!! Love hearing how you are spreading the word of God!! And loving the scenery!! We only get to see the northern sections of Wyoming when driving through so it's an eye-opener!! Thank you!!

@ CurioCasche...depends on the weather, if they are out of food in their environment. Hunting season will bring them closer to people, they KNOW that the hunters won't come there. Here in Wyoming, the Antelope will stay near the highway fence, they know that shooting from the road is not legal. They seem to adapt and learn pretty fast!

@ KornKountryTreasures - Amy...thank YOU so much! Next time you come through Wyoming, you will have to "blow" on down and see me! ♥
